Le Salon provides guests with an informal setting that lower the threshold to artistic content. The living room or "Stammtisch" character invites to state criticism and also opens a space for profound conversation. Regardless of the educational background of the visitors, a direct dialogue with artists about their work is possible and desired. It is a special kind of accessibility and participation.
In our events, the work is not just presented, but above all discussed. Artists are encouraged to share their inspirations, ideas and questions with the audience. The format thus transports the art academy tradition of class discussions to the Berlin pavement. In the beginning, there is the artwork, in the end only the spoken word counts.
