Urban Reflections is a festival presented by Public Art Lab during the Kulturfestival Wedding & Moabit 2014. The focus was on the participation of citizens and pedestrians in artistic scenario, which was unforced in a rich program with panel discussions, talks, workshop, Light parcour and an Urban Picnic.
Light Parcour 11–14 September
During “Urban Reflections” we transformed the windows in Brunnenstraße into interactive light and projection windows. The windows became a place for intercultural encounters and community building, where site-specific interactive art works invited the pedestrians to participate and co-create. The Connecting Cities projects Occupy the Screen, Smart Citizen Sentiment Dashboard, Urban Alphabets, Human Beeing were shown, as well as works from Lichtpiraten, a cooperation project of Public Art Lab and Quartiersmanagement Brunnenstraße, the students of Leuphana University Lüneburg and the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and a video programme by Screen City and Videospread.

Urban Dinner, 12 September
Public Art Lab and the SUPERMARKT invited the local residents to join the open air urban picnic in Brunnenstraße. A long table and chairs was set up and everyone was invited to bring their favorite dishes.

Together with our local partner SUPERMARKT, Public Art Lab organized the Connecting Cities: Urban Reflections Symposium. In several talks, keynotes and panel discussions the speakers discussed how artistic scenarios in the urban space can lead to sustainable community building.

In several workshops the artists analyzed how the inhabitants can be included in participatory processes through media art.
